Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull, Connecticut and Flanders Valley Golf Course in Flanders, New Jersey have been awarded First Links grants from the grow the game initiative teaming the American Society of Golf Course Architects with the PGA of America.

Following a fruitful analysis of the North Kingstown Golf Course in North Kingstown, RI where a new tee program, short course and improved driving range ideas were delivered, Robert McNeil, ASGCA will be working with Tashua Knolls a 1971 design by Al Zikorus and Flanders Valley a busy Morris County New Jersey property with 36 holes designed by Hal Purdy in the early 1960’s, assessing elements within their properties that will improve the player experience and provide inviting elements to new golfers. The analysis includes exploring the overall playability of the golf course and opportunities to create forward and alternate tees, reviewing improvements and expansion of the existing practice amenities, pace of play issues including bunkering, playing corridor width, trees and mow lines.
