Wayne Stiles designed this northern Massachusetts gem in the mid 1920's to high acclaim. The course traverses wonderful golfing terrain with many fantastic natural hazards. Over the years the course has been altered by multiple architects. In 2024 the Club began work with Robert McNeil to create an 18-hole master plan of improvements for the course to make the course more interesting, mainly by restoring the course to Wayne Stiles' original design, and improving aesthetics and playing conditions.
Haverhill Country Club Master Plan Presented to the Club
In celebration of the centennial year at Haverhill Country Club, Robert McNeil and the Northeast Golf Company recently presented an 18-hole master plan of improvements to Club membership. The master plan focuses on improvements to agronomic conditioning, strategic challenge, playability, and aesthetics. Where advisable, the plan recommends the restoration of lost original features from Wayne Stiles' original 1925 design. Over time, Mr. McNeil and club leadership will strategically implement recommended items of improvement on the golf course through thoughtful planning and meticulous craftsmanship and construction. Stay tuned for further updates at this historic Club!
